Day 1

Day 1

Our journey begins early in the morning from Tehran through the road of Kashan, and then to Naeen. We’ll have breakfast in a diner near Qom, a city on the way, and lunch in a traditional restaurant in Naeen. Having had lunch, we’ll check out one of the most outstanding mosques the whole Iran over: ‘Masjed Jame.’ Afterwards, we’ll head to Meibod, a city of seven hundred years of history, residing in one of the traditional hotels of the town. After dinner and having the tour of the town, there is a special show at the historical castle of Narin which all the tourists seemed to be fascinated by.

After breakfast, we’ll move to ‘Chek Chek’, one of the worship places of Zoroastrian deep in the mountain with a spectacular view. Our visit being over, we’ll get back to Meibod and check out some of the workshops of ‘zilu’ making, which is a kind of Iranian traditional pad. Handicrafts are one of one of the distinctive signs of this town. Our visit being over, we’ll go into town so as to enjoy its historical texture – old houses, bazaar, traditional inns, coming to an end with having some tea in a restaurant. Our next plan would be visiting a clay workshop, another distinguishing symbol of the town. After this visit, we’ll move to the historical town of Yazd, and reside in a local motel. A motel built over two hundred years ago giving you the pleasure of enjoying Iranian architecture all along your trip.

Yazd is the largest brick town the whole world over, with more than three thousand years of history; besides, it’s known to be the largest residence of Zoroastrian, the oldest religion in Iran. Owing to this fact, our visits kick off by checking out altars of Zoroastrian, dating back to 2500 years ago. After getting familiar with this ancient religion, we’ll go into town, visiting the neighborhood of Fahadan, the unique manifestation of this city’s architecture. In addition, we’ll pay a visit to the building of Amir Chakhmagh and ‘ Masjed Jame.’ After lunch, we carry on by visiting the garden of Dowlat Abad, an Iranian garden registered as a World Heritage in UNESCO. Afterwards, we’ll head to a Zoroastrian cemetery, familiarizing ourselves with burial rituals of thousands of years ago. Our next destination would be sweet making workshops, an outstanding sign of the town. ‘Baghlava’, ‘Pashmak’, and ‘ghotab’ are some of the souvenirs of the town.

Leaving Yazd early in the morning for the historical village of Meimand close to the town of Shahre Babak , we’ll have a short stop at Mehriz, a brick city on the way the plan being to check out the garden of Pahlevan Poor, registered, yet again, as a World Heritage in UNESCO. We’ll be in Meimand around noon. A village of 2500 years of history the houses of which have been built inside a once volcanic mountain. Residing in one of these beautiful houses, we’ll have lunch. Getting some rest, we’ll take the tour of the village by visiting some houses, the mosque of the village, and taking a stroll. Enjoying local music and dish, our night will be spent here.

Leaving Meimand early in the morning, we’ll move to Kerman, on the way of which we’ll check out one of the largest copper mines the whole world over: Sarcheshme. Our visits in Kerman begin by bazaar and bath of Ganjali Khan. After lunch, once again we’ll go back to the complex of Ganjali Khan – the difference being that this time we’ll check the mosque and coin museum. Afterwards, we’ll head out towards the dome of Jebelie. Then, we pay a visit to the historical castle of Kerman, watching sunset by the side of this brick castle. Going back to the hotel and having dinner puts an end to our day.

Leaving Kerman early in the morning with the aim of visiting ‘Arge Bam’, ‘Arge Rain’, and historical areas around the nearby town of Jiroft will be our plans for today, starting with ‘Arge Rain.’ This ‘Arg’ is about 23000 square kilometers, making it the second largest brick ‘Arg’ behind ‘Arge Bam.’ Spending a couple hours here and having dinner, we’ll move to Jiroft, a city that used to be on the Silk Road and involves two major archeology sites: pre-history areas and Islamic town of Daghianus. Archeological diggings in the last decades have drawn attention of many the whole world over, waiting for wonders to be revealed about this area. Afterwards, we’ll move to Bam, a city which was severely damaged in the massive earthquake of the year 2005, and its outstanding ‘Arg’ was demolished to an extent which seemed to be beyond repair in those days; however, archeologists devoted time and energy to rebuilding this unique building. We check out the historical ‘Arg’ of the town, afterwards of which we’ll move to the location of the new ‘Arg.’

Leaving Bam for Kerman early in the morning, we have a couple of short stops on the way including magnificent desert of Shahdad. On the way back, we first check out Mahan, a small garden-like city in the heart of the desert. Tomb of Shah Nematolla and garden of Shahzade will be our other visits. Leaving Mahan, we’ll move to check out the desert of Shahdad. Of course before getting to the desert, we’ll have a short stop at the town of Sirch, watching its three-thousand-year-old cedar tree. Walking in the desert and enjoying the fantastic nature at the break of the dusk is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Having dinner, watching countless stars in the sky, and enjoying unique night sky of the desert will round off this part of our trip.

Getting back to Kerman early in the morning, we’ll have some time to shop for souvenirs which will put an end to our trip.
